Join us for the 20th Annual Chanticleer Lecture with Christopher Woods. Chris will discuss his new book, Gardenlust: A Botanical Tour of the World’s Best New Gardens.

For three years, Chris Woods traveled the world seeking out contemporary gardens and found fifty of the best. With wit and humor, he describes the most arresting features in public parks in exotic locations like New Delhi and Dubai, mission-redefining botanic gardens in Chile and Australia, and the most enviable details of lavish private estates and gemlike city yards. Throughout, he reveals the fascinating people, plants, and stories that make these gardens so lust-worthy.

Christopher Woods began his gardening life at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. He was director and chief designer of Chanticleer, transforming it into one of America’s most exuberant, romantic, and flamboyant gardens, and made it renowned for creative and innovative techniques. He has served as vice president for horticulture at the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden; director of the Van Dusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver, Canada; executive director of the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden; and director of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Meadowbrook Farm.

He is now working on another book. He lives in California and one or two other places in the world.

Lecture sponsored by Chanticleer, a Pleasure Garden.
